Essential oils are widely known for their calming and relaxing properties and helping us to unwind after a long day at work but I often thing that their properties in stimulating our brains and helping us focus and concentrate on the job at hand are often underutilised and not as well recognised.

I use oils ALL THE TIME to help when I have writing to do or want to smash through my to-do list. Sometimes it is easy to get distracted and not get as much done and my oils are a great way to help me get the work done and remain focused.

There are certain essential oils that have an instant effect on brain activity. There are numerous studies where brain activity has been monitored via electroencephalograms. At times when you are struggling to concentrate or are feeling tired and sluggish or lacking focus, why not grab a bottle of essential oil rather than another cup of coffee or chocolate bar for a sugar fix.
